Environment Policy
Hunter's Hall's Green Policy .
The Carrick Enterprise is committed providing an enjoyable and high quality service whilst minimising any negative impact on the environment. We welcome any contributions you may have with regard to further improvements that we can make to help protect the environment.
Our Farm has been accepted into the Higher Level Stewardship Scheme, which combines profitable arable and livestock farming with environmentally friendly practices. Wildlife is encouraged on the farm through the attraction of insects by planting wildflower margins and meadows and water management to help over-wintering wading birds.
Guests can tour the Carrick enterprise through our permissive footpath, which follows over two miles of the River Wensum, one of the UK's most important chalk rivers, itself now protected by a special area of conservation status. A map is available at reception.
We encourage sustainable tourism through promotion low impact activities such as walking and cycling. Brochures and further information is available at reception. See also, our Responsible Visitor Charter below.

Our Responsible Visitor Charter.
Hunter's Hall shows a commitment to environmental issues by reusing office paper and sourcing the majority of our food products from local sources.
To become fully sustainable we do rely on the assistance of our guests and visitors. The small changes you make during your stay can have very beneficial impacts on the environment:
1. Reduce energy consumption - ensure TV's are not left on standby, lights are turned off when not in use and windows are closed when the heating is on.
2. Reuse and recycle - We ask guests to recycle as much waste as possible.
3. Shop local - Please ask in the office for details of local farmers markets and other local specialities
4. Reduce water consumption – please use water wisely by turning taps off when not in use.
5. Respect nature – Guests are encouraged to enjoy the countryside surrounding Hunter’s Hall. We ask that guests take litter home with them and abide by the countryside code.
6. Support Green Businesses – Many businesses are trying to reduce their impacts on the environment. We encourage guests to visit these companies.
