Walk through the country lanes to our own traditional pub.

Converted into a pub in 1988 from a pair of cottages that originated in the eighteenth century, Darby's is a solid-looking building on a corner in the center of the village. A narrow corridor leads into a spacious bar, which has a rustic feel created by beams, brick walls and an inglenook with a log fire.

Plenty of fish and seafood appear on the menu, done up in a variety of styles: steamed Brancaster mussels with salad, Thai red crab cakes with garlic mayonnaise, or pan-fried sea bass with spinach for example. There are also plenty of meaty offerings, ranging from starter of barbecued spare ribs to main courses of char-grilled steak, chicken and vegetable stir-fry with oyster sauce and Tai-style rice, or venison braised in red wine. Baguettes, vegetarian options and a children's menu are also possibilities.

Beers are a fine selection, comprising regulars from Adnams, Badger, Woodforde's and Green King as well as three guest ales. A short list of wines is reasonably priced available by the bottle or by the glass. In the garden is a children’s adventure play area to entertain the kids.
